Join Bombyx, the Yiddish Book Center, and Beit Ahavah for an immersive sound experience led by Kleztronica artist Chaia and violinist Rachel Leader.
Chaia is a New York-based artist combining Yiddish archival practice with electronic music. Working in close collaboration with Yiddish folklorists and archivists, she invites audiences to engage with Yiddish ritual, generational trauma, and the echoes of ancestral memory. In this performance, she brings together audio material from a wide range of Yiddish archival sources, creating an auditory “Yiddishland” that transcends borders and time.
Rachel Leader is a klezmer violinist, cultural organizer, and educator based in Northampton, MA. She engages traditional klezmer fiddle style and repertoire to cultivate immersive storytelling experiences, vibrant community contexts, and new visions of Jewish diasporic identity.
The Soundbath will happen in the Peacock Room. It's a synthesis of meditation and therapy; an hour of calm, intention, and introspection. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, cushion, pillow, or whatever you need to be comfortable.
This soundbath will benefit creative arts at Beit Ahavah.
