Julia Munemo went to Bard College and earned M.Ed. at Harvard, later an MFA in creative nonfiction from the Stonecoast Program at the USM. She won the Bridging the Gap Competition for nonfiction at the Slice Literary Writers’ Conference, was a fellow at the Oakley Center for Humanities, and was the nonfiction reader for the 2017 Stonecoast MFA Alumni Reunion and the Stonecoast alumni teaching assistant in 2018. She is interim director of the Williams College Writing Workshops and writes for the Williams College Magazine. She teaches courses in creative nonfiction. The Book Keeper: A Memoir of Race, Love, and Legacy is her first book. She lives in Williamstown, MA.
