American Fable is a fashion show and production that delves into the concept of the American Dream through the lenses of Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities, and within the American immigrant diaspora. With two different Acts within the show, there are two approaches towards the American Dream. Act 1 is a commentary on the American Dream based on its ideals, symbols, and systems. Act 2 is a reflection upon BIPOC and immigrant beliefs, and its effects within the American Dream. As a production, American Fable aims to uplift BIPOC and immigrant voices – shedding light on the importance of said diverse narratives in the shaping of this country.

In times of uncertainty and strife, American Fable is presented as a story to ground ourselves within the reality of our circumstances and choices. Whether one believes in the American Dream; or whether one agrees with another believing in said American Dream; American Fable provides insight from different generations and leads the people to acceptance. Through the visual arts, fashion, sound production, theatrics, and creation, I want to pull people with my storytelling of American Fable – in aspirations, of infecting people’s minds to reflect upon their culture, heritage, and other perspectives beyond theirs.
