Songwriters in the Round at The Parlor Room Thursday, March 19th SHOW: 7:30pm / DOORS: 7:00pm TICKETS STARTING AT: $18 includes all fees prices increase on the day of the event Liv Greene is a Nashville based folk artist known for her laser-accurate intonation, her award-winning witty songwriting, and her jaw-dropping command of the guitar. “She has one of those pure voices that stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it” (Sarah Jarosz). Deep Feeler, her sophomore album, is feminine, queer, and defiant— a vulnerable snapshot of hard-won self-acceptance. Greene self-produced and recorded Deep Feeler primarily live to tape in Nashville’s Woodland Sound Studios, with collaborator Matt Andrews (Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings, O Brother Where Art Thou) and a dreamy band of friends including Jack Schneider, Sarah Jarosz, Dom Billett, Elise Leavy, Jordan Tice, and Christian Sedelmeyer. The resulting collection of lilting melodies and poignant storytelling is a bold achievement, marking Greene’s arrival as a powerful new voice in the songwriting tradition of Emmylou, Patty, Gillian, and Lucinda – in her own way. Lisa Bastoni (Northampton, MA) is a 2022 & 2023 New England Music Award nominee (Roots), 2020 & 2019 Boston Music Award Nominee (Folk) and winner of 2019 New Folk at the esteemed Kerrville Folk Festival. In addition to her work in music, Lisa Bastoni is a visual artist and teacher, and mother to two young children. Lisa Bastoni has opened for/performed with Lori McKenna, Dar Williams, Regina Spektor, The Secret Sisters, Teddy Thompson, Rose Cousins, Mark Erelli, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, and many more. She performs regularly around New England, and occasionally beyond. Melanie MacLaren has quickly established herself in the folk and Americana scene with her unique ability to blend poetic lyricism and a tongue-in-cheek sensibility with timeless folk style. Melanie’s “haunting yet humorous” songs, distinctive finger-style guitar and soul-string vocals have won over live audiences nationally and internationally since 2022. Her ability to effortlessly weave past and present threads of the folk tradition without sacrificing any sense of individuality and contemporary relevance make her an undeniable artist to watch.
