On Sunday, April 26 at 3PM in Northampton, MA, the original Young@Heart Chorus welcomes its newest counterpart, Y@H NYC, to the stage. After 44 years based in Western Massachusetts, Young@Heart has launched its first-ever satellite group in New York City.
Since September 2025, singers have been meeting weekly at the Abrons Art Center – part of the Henry Street Settlement on Manhattan’s Lower East Side – to build this exciting new chapter of the Young@Heart story.
For this special performance, the OG Young@Heart will present songs inspired by, connected to or written in New York City, while Y@H NYC brings an eclectic repertoire including music by Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Stevie Wonder, Joan Armatrading, Jelly Roll, and more.
Henry Street Settlement is a nonprofit social service agency serving New Yorkers of all ages. Founded in 1893 by progressive reformer and nurse Lillian Wald (originally as the Nurses’ Settlement), it provides vital social services, arts programming, and health care to the Lower East Side community.
