Food/Drink
A Farm Celebration and Local Food Feast Wheelhouse will return to the Northampton Community Farm for another glorious 4-course gourmet dinner sourced from local farms, featuring those we lease land to and others who sell at our Tuesday Market. Arrive on time for a short guided tour of our 290-plot Community Garden, Giving Garden, and Sawmill Herb Farm with Grow Food Northampton Executive Director, Clem Clay. (Check out our blog post and the Hampshire Daily Gazette's article on our June, 2017, dinner!) BYOB: No alcohol will be served, but you are welcome to bring your own beverage. The Setting The Northampton Community Farm was established in 2011 when Grow Food Northampton purchased 120 acres of protected farmland in the heart of Florence. Most land is leased to several farmers, but we also manage a large communty garden and a Giving Garden that grows tons of organic produce for soup kitchens and food pantries. Guests will see all parts of this operation and its gorgeous setting on a short walk before dinner. Many thanks to Northampton Rental Center for sponsoring the event by providing a tent if weather requires it! The Local Food Menu will be posted here when available. Here is our 2018 menu: Mingle Cheeseboards featuring cheeses from Cricket Creek and Grace Hill Farm; late-spring fruit preserves and pickles Drink Rhubarb-sumac shrub spritzer with mint Starter Crostini with green garlic pesto, radish, and apple-pomegranate syrup Salad Zucchini and zephyr squash, asparagus, arugula, pine nut, labneh and beet molasses Main Za'atar chicken, dandelion, and pearled couscous with feta, paprika, and green garlic Vegetaria option: Grilled asparagus, cured egg yolk, and pearled couscous with feta, paprika, and green garlic Dessert Strawberry galette with elderflowers and chamomile PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS, YOU SHOULD SEND AN EMAIL TO clem[at]growfoodnorthampton.com AFTER PURCHASING YOUR TICKETS.
