On June 5th, 6th, and 7th at the Northampton Center for the Arts at 33 Hawley, Amherst Ballet presents 'Shatter Into Light.' Featuring original choreography by director Mikayla Archambeau set to music by Shostakovich, Villa-Lobos, Amy Beach, and Sato Matsui, a string quartet of fine local professional musicians will join Amherst Ballet’s talented students. Some 25 dancers will perform in costume, with original set design as well. This event is pay-what-you-wish; no one is turned away for lack of funds at our performances.  Last year's performance at 33 Hawley, 'Working to Transcend,' was sold out - hence our decision to add two more shows this year. Amherst Ballet @ 65 Sunderland, a pillar of the Pioneer Valley arts community, offers classical ballet and modern classes to all ages and abilities. For over 50 years, Amherst Ballet has offered quality dance instruction through performances, educational programming, and community partnerships.
