Join us in supporting our neighbors in need!About The Northampton Survival Centerwww.NorthamptonSurvival.orgThe Northampton Survival Center’s two pantries (in Northampton and Goshen) put food directly in the hands of its hungry and food-insecure clients from 18 communities throughout Hampshire County. Clients come to us monthly for customized packages of nutritious food for the whole family, and are welcome to come back weekly for fresh bread and produce.We get our food primarily from the Food Bank of Western Mass, community food drives, and donations from local farms, vendors and individuals. Community donations of clothing, shoes, and children's books are also made available to clients, free-of-charge, as space permits.During the summer months, our Kids’ Summer Food Program helps bridge the summer nutrition gap by providing groceries to children who normally rely on free and reduced meals at school.Our funding comes from generous grants (from the United Way of Hampshire County, Northampton and Hilltown CDBG, Project Bread, Xeric Foundation, town of Easthampton, and others), individual gifts of all sizes, and donations from religious and civic organizations, schools, and local businesses.Our staff of three full-time and three part-time employees supports an outstanding team of hundreds of community members who volunteer at the pantry counter, stocking shelves, recycling cardboard, checking expiration dates, picking up farm and retail bread, sorting clothing, doing repairs, and other miscellaneous office tasks.
