But it wasn't until she picked up a dumbek in 2006 that she found her true musical calling. Since then Amanda has immersed herself in Middle Eastern percussion under the guidance of contemporary percussion masters Raquy Danziger (Brooklyn) and Bunyamin Olguncan (Istanbul). She has traveled to Turkey, Egypt and Israel to delve deeper into a style of drumming called the Turkish Split Hand Technique and addition to dumbek applies these principles to frame drum, riq, cajon, and handpan. Carl Bridge is a percussionist, performer, visual artist and teacher who strives to create moving experiences that connect his audience to each other, as well as a sense of mystery. Over the last 15 years Carl has been deepening his knowledge and practice of West African drumming, and has been creating his own instruments to use in performance. --- 💧 Bring a water bottle to reduce our waste.
