Pioneer Valley Cappella, led by music director Scott Halligan performs its fall 2026 program, “Pathfinding”: “a meditation on the paths we follow, the paths we regret, the paths we abandon, and the paths we discover on life’s journey”. The program includes Three Elizabethan Part Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Charles Villiers Stanford’s “Justorum Animae” with sacred text from The Book of Wisdom. Dylan Thomas’ “Fern Hill,” set to music by John Corigliano inviting us on a path of nostalgia for lost youthful innocence. The program includes a North American premier: “Crude (oil),” by English composer Bernard Hughes, text by Andrew George. We close with “Untraveled Worlds” by Paul Halley, which sets text from “Ulysses” by Alfred Lord Tennyson. “The music drives us forward and urges us to continue seeking, exploring, pathfinding.” The chorus is joined by pianist Scott Bailey
