The Hilltown Plein Air Painters are excited to participate in Forbes Library’s 125th anniversary year with an exhibit titled “Northampton Reflections” to be held at the Hosmer Gallery during the month of November. This collection of plein air paintings was inspired by the Hosmer’s 2019 Call for Artists, which challenged us to examine what is important and binds us together as a community. For artists living in nearby hilltowns, Northampton is where we go for many of life’s events; for entertainment, shopping, celebrations, inspiration and study. The paintings in this collection are a direct result of that challenge.Steve Shelasky, nature photographsMarla Shelasky, woven paintingsSteve, a former business man in Northampton and currently of Longmeadow, has been taking nature photos all his adult life and has gained local and national recognition.
