The Smith College Department of Theatre presents a new play reading series by Patricia Mew. In 1960, on the heels of the Red Scare initiated by Senator Joseph McCarthy, Smith College became the focus of a nationwide hunt for certain 'undesirables.'  The scandal that followed the discovery of damning erotic material enveloped three professors, and the college where they taught, in a story of betrayal, moral ambiguity, and professional disgrace that rocked the academic world and forced the accused to grapple with what, exactly, was the right thing to do.
