The Smith College Department of Theatre presents a new play reading series. Yewon Park ‘25 tells the story of Sopia Lee, a Korean American mother, who faces the sudden loss of her husband. She cannot come to terms with his death, and he actively remains in her life. However, Sopia’s hardships as a low-income, immigrant, single mother force her to face reality, especially as the consequences of Sopia’s denial begin to affect her daughter. With the support of her sister, mother, and daughter, Sopia confronts the hidden truth while navigating the path of grief and loss.
