Matt Hebert & Lonesome Brothers at The Iron Horse on Sunday, November 3 2024
In Fall 2023, with Matt Hebert preparing for release shows of his new band, Hidden Skyline, and their album Causeways. With booking delayed, due to drummer Don McAulay acting as drum tech for U2 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Hebert worked on a long pondered vocal/acoustic solo record. A few songs in came a song called These Words, reminding him of Neil Young’s “Lotta Love.” Having just played ashow with his 90’s era band Ware River Club, including two members of his favorite band, Lonesome Brothers, he got a spark. Two more songs in he called the “brothers” Ray and Jim and they jumped on.
The album features the Lonesome’s Ray Mason, Jim Armenti, Keith Leverault, Drunk Stuntmen pianist Scott Hall, plus Hebert’s longest musical confidant Bob Hennessy playing guitar or whatever needed.
Basic tracks were recorded at Spirithouse Recording Studios, and overdubs were worked out at Hebert’s home studio. As always Western Mass legend Danny Bernini engineered and mixed the album with Hebert alongside, barking at his heels.
The release date is set for November 3 rd at The Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Mike Flood will open celebration accompanied by Scott Hall.
