A nomadic soul who spent stints living in Alaska, California, New York, and North Carolina before returning home, she grew up learning traditional Bulgarian music from her paternal grandfather’s side of the family and reveled in singing American folk and roots tunes with her friends. Louisa’s debut album When We Were Looking is out now. Born in Washington D.C., Mary Noyes Craig is a painter and musician based in Northampton, MA. She studied Latin American Studies at Brown University, where her passion for Andean folk music led her to Ecuador and Bolivia to study the charango, a small but resonant ten-stringed instrument known for its bright, harp-like tones. After moving to Argentina on a Fulbright grant, she performed with the band Weeper from 2019 to 2024. Now based in Northampton, she continues to develop her artistic voice, sharing her songs and paintings of trees with the valley.
