Kate Wolf Tribute - MOVED FROM THE PARLOR ROOM at The Iron Horse on Friday, June 5 2026

THIS SHOW WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED TO BE AT THE PARLOR ROOM BUT WILL NOW TAKE PLACE @ THE IRON HORSE!

Kate Wolf was an unparalleled singer, songwriter and activist whose voice and songs deeply touched a generation. Since her untimely death in 1986 Kate's legacy has more than stood the test of time. Michael and Carrie Kline, joined by local heroes Jim Armenti and Joe Blumenthal, and Katie Clarke of the Boxcar Lilies, joined by duo partner Larry LeBlanc and special guest, her Lily sister Stephanie Marshall, offer a magical night of Kate's songs to refuel our fires and remind us of the enduring power of love.

Kate Wolf was not afraid to paint raw, naked emotion with her intimate portrayals of human and natural relationships. Her music fathomed the depths, and continues to guide us through troubled waters to a place of calm, Safe at Anchor.Michael and Carrie Kline have performed in Europe and across the United States. They have traveled the rolling hills from Western Massachusetts to West Virginia and, decades later, back to the Valley again with the vivid imagery and haunting melodies of Kate Wolf. Her music adds breadth to their concerts, which otherwise foray through life, love and loss in some of the oldest mountains, the Appalachians. The Klines’ performances travel from ancient caves and high valleys to kitchen music. Michael and Carrie's voices carry the songs with truth and authenticity, and their guitar accompaniments and haunting harmonies get you where you live. With Carrie’s soulful singing, Michael’s free flowing guitar and harmony vocals, and an exquisite backup band, prepare to feel rocked in the spruce trees, cleansed by gentle breezes, high above the fray.Click here for a video sample from a live performance with The Klines. Katie Clarke began performing music in the Pioneer Valley in 2004. Playing clawhammer banjo and guitar, her original music appeals to audiences from young hipster 20-somethings to older folks who grew up with Patsy Cline, the Louvin Brothers, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, as Katie is able to navigate the territories of  bluegrass, folk, country, gospel, and old time music without sounding derivative.  Katie’s musical energy for the many years was focused on the female three part harmony-vocal supergroup the Boxcar Lilies, who traveled the eastern seaboard with their spine-tingling harmonies and crackerjack songwriting. They performed all over the East Coast at clubs and festivals and sharing the stage with a range of acts from straight ahead folkies like Bill Staines to international bluegrass stars the Seldom Scene. After the Lilies showcased their music at the International Folk Alliance Conference in 2012 in Memphis, their second and third CD’s, Sugar Shack (2013)  and Knockout Rose(2015), became big folk and Americana radio favorites garnering many accolades. Katie currently performs as a duo with hotshot multi-instrumentalist and singer Larry LeBlanc.
