Broadway’s own Tony Award nominee Jenn Colella and SiriusXM radio star Seth Rudetsky will present an afternoon of song and laughter, “Bring It, Broadway,” on Sunday, October 13, at 4 p.m.
Seth will host the concert and accompany Jenn on the piano. Like concerts Seth has given in New York City, London, Provincetown, Los Angeles and San Francisco, “Bring It, Broadway” will feature lots and lots of show-stopping music and, instead of scripted patter, spontaneous interviews between songs, which makes every concert completely unique. As Seth taps his encyclopedic knowledge of Broadway and signature comedy sass, get ready for some hilarious Broadway insider anecdotes, a slew of hit songs and please bring your own questions for the Q&A segment!
A Tony Award-nominated actress, singer and comedian, Jenn Colella is currently appearing on Broadway in “Suffs,” the Tony Award-winning musical telling the story of the suffragists who fought for women’s right to vote. In her role as Carrie Chapman Catt, The New York Stage Review wrote, “Jenn Colella is phenomenal!” Jenn is also well known for starring on Broadway in the musicals “Urban Cowboy,” “If/Then,” “High Fidelity” and for originating the role of pilot Captain Bass in the Tony Award-winning hit musical, “Come From Away,” for which she won the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Awards and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
Seth Rudetsky began his career as a musician for more than a dozen Broadway shows, including “Ragtime,” “Les Misérables,” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” While playing in the orchestras of Broadway at night, he became an Emmy-nominated comedy writer (“The Rosie O’Donnell Show”), a stand-up comic (voted New York’s Funniest Gay Male at Stand-Up NY) and an author. His most recent book, “Musical Theatre For Dummies,” went to Number One on Amazon and will be available for purchase at the event. This year marks his 20th year as the host of Sirius XM radio’s “On Broadway,” where he interviews artists, gives them a platform to share entertaining stories and, of course, accompanies them on the piano.
By selecting a VIP ticket for a front and center seat, you will meet Seth during a private reception before the performance and enjoy light refreshments. This event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Paradise City Dragon Boat racing team of cancer survivors and supporters from throughout Western Massachusetts. www.paradisedragons.org
