Dan Zukergood, Ginny Elkin, & Johnny Joelson at The Iron Horse on Sunday, June 1 2025

Dan Zukergood has been a mainstay in the Pioneer Valley music scene for the past 30 years. Many people know him as a member of Johnny and the Flashbacks, Dan Zukergood and the Mostly Happy Band and The Meanies.

Dan has two albums of original material - Mostly Happy Man and I Ain’t Dead Yet! Dan writes heartfelt love songs, songs that reflect his positive attitude towards life, highly political songs and songs that are just plain funny! But no matter what he is writing about, he sure knows how to tell a good story.

Ginny Elkin is a Northampton-based singer-songwriter who has traveled the world with her guitar, sharing her music in cafés, farmer’s markets, and concert halls. From a cozy café on a New Zealand fjord to local venues in her hometown, she brings heartfelt, home-centered, and often humorous songs to life. She has opened for national artists and gained radio play with her debut CD, released during the deep COVID lockdown. Now working on her second album, Ginny continues to craft songs that, as listeners say, make you feel things you didn’t realize you needed to feel.

Johnny Joelson is best known as the ebullient lead singer of Johnny and the Flashbacks, one of the Valley’s pre-eminent rock’n roll cover bands, concentrating on dance tunes from the 60’s and 70’s. Johnny released “No Turning Back” in 2021, an album of original songs about love, life and yearning. Like their author, they are at once philosophical and humorous, infused with a deep sense of gratitude and optimism. In 2023 Johnny dropped “Songs My Father Taught Me”, an album of traditional folk and blues covers. Johnny is excited to be back on the Iron Horse stage with his buddies Dan and Ginny backed up by an outstanding band of local all-stars.
