Smith College’s much-anticipated Christmas Vespers program will be held on Sunday, December 8th at 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm in John M. Greene Hall. ___ An annual tradition at Smith, the Christmas Vespers tells the story of advent through hymns and other anthems, prayers, and scripture readings, and is a time when Smith College and the surrounding community come together in the spirit of the holiday season. The services will be led by Rev. Matilda Rose Cantwell, director of Religious and Spiritual Life, with readings by members of the Smith College faculty, staff and senior class. The music portion of the program will feature the Smith College Glee Club, Chamber Singers, Handbell Choir, and Vespers Orchestra. Traditional hymns and carols will be sung by the choirs, a special guest choir from the Smith College Campus School, and congregation. Jonathan Hirsh, Sarah Paquet, and Anita Anderson Cooper will direct the choral and instrumental groups.Smith College’s much-anticipated Christmas Vespers program will be held on Sunday, December 8th at 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm in John M.
