Multiple award-winning singer/songwriters David Buskin, Robin Batteau, Christine Lavin, John Forster, and Julie Gold (who wrote “From A Distance”) are set to perform funny songs in-the-round for the month of April, in the first ever "Buskin & Batteau and Friends: April Fools! Tour.” The show honors comedy music icon Tom Lehrer, who just made all his songs Public Domain, and the wonderful Cheryl Wheeler, presently on hiatus, who makes us laugh just thinking about her. Enjoy all five artists on stage at once, taking turns accompanying one another on piano, electric-acoustic violin, guitars, harmonies, and the occasional uncalled-for counterpoints, singing songs from Tom and Cheryl along with their own bags of tricks. With songs that have been sung by everyone from Astrud Giberto to Aretha Franklin, Tom Rush to Tom Paxton, Andrea Marcovicci to Dr. Ruth Westheimer (really!), and Betty Buckley to Gwyneth Paltrow to Paul Newman, they may be funnier than all of them put together. Award yourself some laughs this April Fool’s Day, you deserve it!
