Join Grow Food Northampton and Dan Pratt of Astarte Farm to learn the fundamentals of no-till farming while contributing to our Giving Garden. Dan will draw on his experience using no-till methods at Astarte Farm in Hadley to offer strategies for sequestering carbon, increasing soil health and growing nutrient-dense produce. We will be focusing on asparagus, and as part of the workshop we will be preparing and planting three beds of asparagus and other perennials for the Giving Garden. All Giving Garden produce is donated to our local partner organizations, primarily food pantries and meal sites. This event is free, but donations to offset the costs of the workshop are requested. Spots are limited and you must register in advance. The rain date will be Wednesday, May 22, 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
