A Cooking Class Celebrating the work of Manna Community Kitchen

Join us Thursday May 4th as we celebrate the work of Manna Community Kitchen for a special presentation from Manna’s dedicated and talented chefs, Laura Manning and Lee Anderson. Together with a team of volunteers, Laura and Lee produce 300 nutritious, flavor-packed meals to their guests every day. In this demonstration cooking class, Laura and Lee will share with us stories from Manna’s Kitchen, what it takes to produce the meals they make daily and what these meals mean to the lives of the guests they serve. All proceeds to this event will directly support Manna Community Kitchen and the work they do for our community.

We’ll open up the evening with light fare and wine from Provisions before sitting for a flavor-filled presentation by Manna’s Chefs Laura and Lee. We’ll enjoy a guest favorite, Moroccan mint meatballs, gently stewed with earthy spices and warm vegetables. Beginning with a vegan Greek Flatbread and for a sweet finish of orange pistachio cake drizzled with orange syrup.
Greek Flatbreads Pita bread with hummus, spinach, cherry tomatoes, feta, kalamata olives with a balsamic glaze. This dish is vegan. Gluten free pitas can be available.
Mediterranean Beef Stew A Manna guest favorite! Made with beef (Moroccan meatballs) and served over rice, this stew is loaded with rich vegetables, this stew includes eggplant, carrrots, onions, red peppers, zucchini, chickpeas, lemon, garlic enriched with tomato, balsamic red wine and spices. Vegan option: We will substitute the meat with beyond beef.
Italian Orange Pistachio Cake with Orange Syrup This is a specialty of Lauras and a favorite of our guests.
