We checked in with Jean-Luc and Evelyn of Suzette French Crêperie to see what's new!
What's your most popular crêpe currently?
The various versions of the Nutella crêpe are by far our most popular! The ham & cheese crêpe is also a favorite. I’d say there’s a slight shift with the change of season to the savory crêpes, but it’s not a huge change. Over the summer, we had some fun seasonal additions, including a Strawberry Sunshine crêpe, featuring fresh strawberries and our house-made lemon curd. The light, summery flavors were very popular. My Grandma’s Favorite—with chicken, mushrooms, and our white sauce—is also always a hit. And lately, the Truffled Mushroom crêpe is becoming more popular, with its melange of mushrooms, spinach, our white sauce made of greek yogurt and mayo, and white truffle oil.
Do you have any special holiday crêpes planned for November/December?
We are planning to hold a contest and a raffle, inviting our customers to vote on what our holiday crêpes should be—we’ll select two sweet and two savory winners. People will be able to vote either online or in Thornes by filling out a slip. We’ve been recipe testing and we have some good crêpes to choose from! It’s also our 1st anniversary at this location, which is very exciting.
What are you enjoying most about Northampton lately?
We really love all of the events, from the Tuesday Farmers Market to the special markets, such as the Halloween and Market Street Markets. We also love Arts Night Out, and appreciate how much of an effort businesses are putting into these events. The foot traffic is great for the city—when you are a small business, you really rely on that. We have to say, Northampton does a great job attracting people to downtown.
Anything else you’d like to share?
We have recently added the DoorDash option, and also want to highlight the ability for you to order online through our website. We are participating in Bag Day, which is super fun—we’re offering 20% off gift cards and one authentic French meal, our Riesling Chicken. We currently have five French meals we’re selling. Now that it’s fall and cooler out, people crave delicious comfort food! We love that people will order multiple meals to serve to friends at dinner parties—it’s such a great idea, especially with the holidays coming up.
