Godard’s Red Hen Farm started growing apples and keeping a couple bee hives in 1984.  It has expanded since to growing more apples, blueberries, grapes and managing our own apiary and a few out yards for our bees.  There was a time when the four Godard children were working the land with us (usually not by choice), when we had chickens and sheep.  Now our focus is fruit.

The winery was added to the farm in 2010.  A dream come true for owners Larry and Sue Godard.  We started with 50 cases of wine and a few varieties.  We have grown to producing over 1400 cases a year.  In addition to enjoying our wines at the winery, you can find our wines in a number of stores, mainly in the Springfield/Northampton area.  Although, we do have our wines in one location in Boston and one in Sturbridge MA.  See the Stores page on this web site for details on the stores and restaurants where our wines can be purchased.

Larry and Sue have worked hard to build this small family farm and winery.  Larry has been making wine since the 1990’s and like his grandfather (Antonio Pepe from Springfield, MA) enjoyed crafting wine and sharing it with family and friends.

Our motto is “Wines to please all palates”.  We produce about 15 different wines.  You can find dry full bodied red and white grape wines as well as softer reds & whites.  We produce fruit wines from the fruit from our farm and other local sources.  Our fruit wines are: Apple Wine, Ice Apple Wine and Blueberry Wine.  We also produce Mead (honey wine) from the honey from Sue’s apiary.

In season, you will be able to purchase apples, sweet apple cider, blueberries and honey from our store.  Sue also makes some amazing hand creams and lip balms from the bees wax from her hives.

To answer the question that we are asked most often:  no we do not have chickens, nor do we sell eggs (although we used to).  We named the farm “Red Hen Farm” after the children’s story titled “The Little Red Hen”, because like her we did it ourselves.

In 1989, the Ye Ol' Watering Hole and its can collection was sold to Gary Kelly, and, subsequently, in 1992, to its current owners, Jim and Colleen McGorry.

Much of our wheat is either milled in house or by the farmers that grew it, yielding loaves with a wonderful depth of flavor that you won’t find anywhere else.

We are an independent, craft roaster dedicated to the enjoyment of coffee through the preservation of the traditional art of coffee roasting and a fanatical quest for quality from origin to roast to cup. All of our roasting is done in small batches using a vintage German 1951 Ideal Rapid Gothot drum roaster. We roast only to order and only the finest single origins. Your coffee is shipped within 24 hours of roasting, giving you the freshest coffee possible and an unparalleled tasting experience.

Konstantinos & Sunita Sierros met at A-1 Pizza in Florence where Konstantinos's family has been in business since 1983. Sunita was an economics major at Smith and Konstantinos was just starting out with the family business. They both fell in love with the area (and each other) and decided that this was the best area to work and raise a family in, so they made the commitment to stay here. That was nearly 22 years ago. Since then, they have owned and operated Florence Pizza in Florence and Paisano's Restaurant in Southampton.

Heavenly Chocolates opened across the hall from Cornucopia in 2007 and relocated upstairs on the first level of Thornes Marketplace in 2012. Bud develops his own recipes and he and an assistant handcraft the pieces at the Heavenly Chocolate factory. They prepare the chocolates in small batches to ensure freshness, using organic and local ingredients whenever possible.

Heavenly Chocolates also sells a limited selection of carefully chosen top-quality American and European confections and chocolate bars.

Hungry Ghost Bread’s grand opening was on April 10th – 2004. A few friends and family were expected. By mid-morning the shelves were empty and more could not be baked fast enough to keep pace with the demand. Some days, (particularly Saturdays and holidays), are still like that – no matter how early the baker and the fire maker rise.

We are New England-based artisans dedicated to creating exquisite tasting chocolate in small batches from scratch. We do this  by overseeing every step of the production process from sorting cacao beans, roasting, winnowing, grinding, conching, tempering, to tasting!

The Coolidge Park Café serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a variety of delicious meals, including salads, sandwiches, and entrées.
